Demo: SkyClass: A large-scale mobile learning system for heterogeneous clients

Abstract

In this demonstration, a prototype of large-scale mobile learning system for heterogeneous clients is presented. The system evolves the following novel characteristics: (1) Firstly, the system can provide two-way interactive media as well as one-way live streaming at the same time by a two-tier system architecture based on service overlay network and tree-based P2P (Peer-to-Peer) streaming. Especially, the tree-based P2P structure is designed to support heterogeneous clients with enhanced stable performance. (2) Secondly, the system can also provide large-scale one-way live streaming for heterogeneous clients by flash media server and http live streaming server as an another branch, with single or multiple video streaming for heterogeneous clients.
