Abstract
From two aspects of both the frequency domain and the time domain, the decomposition approaches for the non-sinusoidal periodic current are analyzed. The definition, physical meaning and action of its each current component as well as the relationship among them are discussed, in line with Budeanu's and Fryze's power definitions under non-sinusoidal condition, and in combination with the ideas of other power definitions. The obtained conclusions can provide theoretical basis for relevantly compensating some relative current components in the non-sinusoidal periodic current.
