Abstract
Analysis of cylinder is presented for the sliding vane compressor with double action. The formation obtained is a criterion for determining the desired profile. This is accomplished from studying the characteristic equations for six different types of cylinder profile. The simple harmonic cylinder profile is better than the others. By analyzing the influence of the shape parameter (ratio of the lift to the third dimension) on the working chamber volume, an appropriate value between 0.27 and 0.35 is formed. Such a choice was the result of comparing the performance of the vane compressor having a simple harmonic profile with that of the scroll compressor. The former is superior.
