Abstract
Differences between designing integrated magnetic (IM) components and discrete magnetics (DM) components were described. The traditional IM designing procedures were also introduced. Following the introduction, a criterion of the integration possibility for two and more discrete magnetic components was proposed. Constraints to avoid different DM flux counteracting were introduced. The current relationship between the discrete and integrated also was discussed. Special interests in current loop of IM components were studied. A systematic design method of IM was proposed. A half bridge with current doubling rectifier topology was taken as an example to verify the effectiveness and correctness of the method.
