Abstract

The corrosion damage evolutions of aluminum alloy exposing to different corrosive environments are investigated. Towards this, the evolution model of corrosion damage, which includes corrosive temperature and corrosive periods as the critical independent variables, incorporated within a probabilistic framework is proposed. Implementing Monte Carlo simulation with the proposed probabilistic model, the effects of different temperature and corrosive periods to corrosion damage are analyzed and the simulation results are in good agreement with the experiment results. Because of considering the random parameters of corrosive environment, the model can be used to predict the corrosion damage ratios under different corrosive environments.
