Abstract

Correction to: Communications Earth & Environmenthttps://doi.org/10.1038/s43247-023-01151-3, published online 05 February 2024 The original version of this article twice referred to the study sites as being located in the northwest/northwestern Caucasus. In retrospect, the authors acknowledge that the descriptors could be misleading, due to their similarity with the name of the adjacent North Caucasus region. To avoid confusion, these lines have been corrected to ‘Abkhazia, western South Caucasus’ in the PDF and HTML versions of the Article.
