Abstract
The growth of CuAl 2O 4/Cu hybrid nanorods in porous aluminum oxide (PAO) through barrier layers was systematically investigated through deposition conditions. Suitable deposition parameters were tried among variables including applied potential, pH value and electrolyte composition. The quality of electrodeposition and crystallization of hybrids were evaluated by SEM and XRD. It was found that applied potential affected both deposition quality and crystallization of CuAl 2O 4/Cu composition in CuSO 4 and MgSO 4 solutions at pH 3.0. Changes of pH or exclusion of MgSO 4 resulted in new compositions instead of CuAl 2O 4/Cu hybrids. Possible mechanism of the CuAl 2O 4/Cu hybrids evolution was proposed thereafter.
