Abstract

The scaling functions of B-spline wavelet on the interval (BSWI) were employed to construct the shape functions of finite element. Based on the energy function of axial symmetric shell, the element stiff-ness matrix and load matrix were derived, and the BSWI thin truncated conical shell element was constructed. The method is endowed with higher approximation accuracy of B-spline functions and various basis functions for structural analysis. The numerical examples demonstrate that the proposed schemeoutper-forms with higher accuracy, less elements and degree of freedoms.
