Abstract
Power system resilience characterizes the ability to resist, adapt to and timely recover from disruptions. With an increasing frequency of natural disasters and growing awareness of terrorism, to achieve the resiliency of power system has become a top priority in national strategies across the world. This paper explains the concepts of and insight into power system resilience, and the status quo of power system resilience research in different countries. Then research needs in threat recognition, resilience evaluation and resilience enhancement are identified, and an analysis of the key points and difficulties is made. In conclusion, the future research prospects are summarized.
