Abstract

The calculated values of composition and thermodynamic properties of mixtures of carbon and water vapour taking into account the condensed phase, in a wide temperature range 300K∼30000K, are presented in this paper. Equilibrium particle concentrations and thermodynamic properties are determined by the method of Gibbs free energy minimization, using standard thermodynamic tables. The influence of mixing ratio of carbon and water vapour as well as the pressure on particle concentrations and thermodynamic properties are studied in this work. It is found the chemical reactions (dissociation, ionization) contribute greatly to the thermodynamic properties.
