Abstract

This paper deals with the analysis of two interior permanent magnet (IPM) machines with different winding type for electric vehicle (EV) application. The performances, such as torque, cogging torque, power factor, efficiency, flux weakening capacity, losses, radial force and vibration of 12-slot 10-pole IPM machine with FSCW and 24-slot 10-pole IPM machine with the coil-pitch of two slot-pitches winding is detailed discussed by finite-element analysis (FEA) method.
