Abstract

Objective: To assess the value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound and contrast-enhanced helical CT in diagnosis of gallbladder carcinoma. Methods: CEUS and contrast-enhanced helical CT findings were comparatively analyzed in 26 cases with gallbladder carcinoma verified by operations and pathology. Results: CEUS and contrast-enhanced CT had similar manifestations for gallbladder carcinoma. Of the 26 cases, the wall thickening in 14, the mass in 7, intraluminal nodular pattern in 5. Correct diagnoses were obtained in 23 by CEUS, while 22 by contrast-enhanced helical CT. Combining CT with CEUS diagnosed 25, misdiagnosed one patient. Conclusion: Both CEUS and contrast-enhanced helical CT are sensitive and accurate in diagnosis of gallbladder carcinoma, it can raise the diagnostic rate to combine CEUS and contrast-enhanced helical CT.
