Abstract

Combustion characteristic of pulverized coal injection (PCI) under different oxygen rates were investigated with thermal analysis device. It is shown in the result that combustion characteristic of PC are different from different oxygen rate. Ignition point is lower, initial and maximum weight loss peaks are achieved at relatively lower temperature. Meanwhile, combustion characteristic index are enhanced. The improvement in combustion of PC is more significant when volume fraction of oxygen is under 40%, the trend of which is slower above 40% volume fraction of oxygen. Kinetic calculation was carried out from 21% to 100% oxygen volume fraction with Flynn-Wall-Ozawa (FWO) model. The results show that activation energy of PC is improved from 95. 15 kj • mol-1 to 169. 99 kj • mol-1 with the increase of oxygen.
