Abstract

A 0.7Bi(Fe0.9Cr0.1)O3-0.2PbTiO 3-0.1BaTiO3 (BFC-PT-BT) solid solution was fabricated using an aqueous sol-gel method. The dielectric, ferroelectric, piezoelectric, and ferromagnetic properties of the sol-gel-derived BFC-PT-BT ceramics were investigated. A remanent polarization of 11.1 μC/cm2 and a coercive field of 22.5 kV/cm were obtained. The piezoelectric coefficient d 33 was 45 pC/N at 30 kV/cm, 120°C. The planar electromechanical coupling factor Kp was 24%. The spontaneous and remanent magnetizations of BFC-PT-BT were 0.75 and 0.7 emu/g, respectively.
