Abstract

1.0-4.0 GHz microwave on-line detection experimental platform is constructed in the paper to monitor the carbon content of fly ash on line more accurately. The relation between carbon content in fly ash and attenuation of microwave is studied and experimental results show that there are three trends of the relation. The first one is proportional linear, which distributes in the frequency band of 1.0-1.5 GHz and 2.0-2.4 GHz. Fluctuation trend mainly exists at 2.5-4.0 GHz. In the frequency band of 1.6-1.9 GHz, there is a linear and inverse relation between them. A detailed analysis of formation mechanism is given based on the theories of electrical conductivity loss and resonance absorption.
