Abstract
The high-performance carbon/carbon composites were prepared with the mesocarbon microbeads (MCMB) as carbon sources and cut pitch-based carbon fibers as homogeneous enhancement phases via a cold-mould forming and a low-temperature sintering under N 2 atmosphere. The influence of surface treatment of carbon fibers on the improvement of interface bonding strength was investigated. The microstructure of the original powder ground at different milling time was analyzed. The addition amount of carbon fibers had influences on the shrinkage and uniformity, densification, mechanical properties and microstructure of the carbon/carbon composites. The bending strength of the composite reached the maxium value of 123.5 MPa when the addition amount of carbon fiber was 10% (mass fraction).
