Abstract

In the neutron well-logging numerical simulation, the calculation of group constants is a key link in improving the precision of the theoretical results. This paper tries to apply the neutron thermalization model in the nuclear reactor physics to the neutron well-logging numerical simulation, and a calculating method of the thermal group constants under the neutron well-logging conditions is proposed. An appropriate program HGMIC for thermal neutron spectrum calculation has been developed, and the influence of the borehole temperature on the responses is studied. The correction chart of the borehole temperature is drawn theoretically by using the proposed method and code.
