Abstract

This thesis presents a method for the determination of fan casing noise radiation. Boundary element program is developed to calculate the acoustic pressure on the surface of fan casing in terms of its surface vibration which measured experimentally. The Surface Helmholtz Integral Equation discretized by isoparametric element was selected as the concrete calculation method. The acoustic fields resulting from different aeroacoustic sources can be differentiated by using the method which provides a theoretical principle for fan noise decrease techniques.
