Abstract

Objective: To investigate the shear bond strength of trial immediate dentin sealing materials to dentin that contained TMPT in commercially available Hybrid Coat (HyC). Methods: Trial dentin sealing materials were prepared by changing the combination proportion of Ac and TMPT in HyC, and then used on bovine teeth to test the shear bond strength to dentin. Results: Shear bond strength was the highest when a trial dentin sealing material of 67% Ac-33% TMPT was used, which was about 14.50MPa, and failure modes of most specimens were cohesive failure. Bond strength was the lowest when the combination proportion was 0% Ac-100% TMPT. Conclusion: The dentin bond strength could be enhanced when 33% TMPT was added to HyC, which would ensure bond strength of final restorations and relieve dentin hypersensitivity of the vital teeth prepared for crowns.
