Blog-based dynamic organization and management for multi-discipline knowledge

Abstract

The collaborative decision-making and knowledge synthesization across multiple disciplines is becoming the marked characteristic and one of key problems to be resolved in collaborative design of complicated products. In order to effectively utilize the design knowledge especially the tacit knowledge of designers, this paper presents a kind of management solution for multidiscipline knowledge based on Blog. The main contributions of this study can be focused on three points: The first is to distinguish the classification and characteristic of complicated products design knowledge for collaborative design. The second is to put forward the architecture of design knowledge and the framework of knowledge management system. In the presented system, tacit knowledge can turn into explicit knowledge through accumulation of useful knowledge. Finally, a prototype of design knowledge management system is developed.
