Abstract

CT scanning data of inferior segment of the femur of dog were putted into self-developed imaging format software to reconstruct the 3D model of the artificial joint and femoral inferior segment. In addition, the microstructure was designed in the femoral model and put to the rapid prototyping machine. The resin prototypes were achieved, and Ti-6AI-4V alloy prosthesis was obtained through ordinary mould-melted founding process; the artificial bone mould was affused with tripalcium phosphate and calcined, and the artificial hemi-knee and synthetic bone wth micro-circulated system was gained for subsequent animal experiment. The 3D model reconstructed by CT scanning data, objectively reflected the real figure, and the composite hemi-knee was well matched the surrounding tissues and had enough mechanical strength. The synthetic bone had good inner structure with diameter of microcosmic pipeline 226-250 μm microcosmic hole 250-300 μm, and connection among microscosmic holes 50-100 μm, which make the synthetic bone has bioactivity. The rapid prototyping process can rapid prepare composite hemi-knee which has enough mechanical strength and bioactivity. Subsequent clinical application studies could be constructed.
