Bearing Fault Diagnosis Based on Improved Stagewise Orthogonal Matching Pursuit

Abstract

This paper presents an improved stagewise orthogonal matching pursuit (StOMP) algorithm to extract fault feature component for bearing fault diagnosis. As compared to the simple threshold setting strategy in the original StOMP algorithm, an adaptive threshold setting strategy by considering change of the residual signal energy is proposed. Both simulation and experimental study has verified that the improved StOMP is effective in bearing fault diagnosis with better signal reconstruction accuracy and less computation cost as compared to the original StOMP and OMP algorithms.
