Abstract

The X-ray emission due to the impact of 129Xe 30+ ions of 1.0-7.0 MeV kinetic energies on Au surface is detected. The experimental result shows that when ion kinetic energy is larger the incident ion excits not only Au M X-ray but also Xe L X-ray. The X-ray yield and the ion kinetic energy have a strong correlation with each other. The relationship between the X-ray yield with ion kinetic energy is analyzed.
