Application of multi-block mesh technique in the analysis of complex three dimensional flow

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

A complex zone in physical space is divided into many blocks, each of these is mapped onto the computational space in which meshes are generated. The meshes are then mapped onto the physical space. Thus a integrated mesh system is produced. Meanwhile, a topological relation between the physical space and computational space is established A coordinate transformation is used for transforming the N-S equations from the physical space into the arbitrary coordinates(ξ, η, ζ),in which the velocity components to the Cartesian coordinates are solved. The 90 degrees bend with square section is taken as the numerical numerical analysis example to verify the proposed method.
