abstract = "The ADS system is driven by a neutron source from proton introduced spallation reaction. Part of the neutron source has energy as high as several hundred MeV to 1GeV. The effects of high energy incident neutron are usually neglected by energy cut-off in the core calculation. To evaluate the effects brought by high energy neutron into subcritical core, two models were established aiming to cover the features of current experimental facilities and industrial-scale ADS system in the future. The effect of incident neutron is decomposed into several energy intervals. The spectrum of neutron source was analyzed. The effects on neutron source efficiency and energy cut-off treatment were evaluated. It was shown that the high energy neutron is of small fraction plays an important role in the ADS system. The contribution of high energy neutron to the neutron source efficiency is over 20\% for both low-energy and high-energy injected proton beam. The direct cut-off at 20MeV significantly underestimates the neutron source efficiency. For better evaluation of ADS, the cut-off energy should be raised corresponding to different injected proton beam.",
