Abstract

In this paper, a split-tooth dual winding dual magnet machine (SDWDM) with low mutual inductance is proposed and analyzed. Compared with conventional dual winding dual magnet machines (CDWDM), SDWDM has the obvious feature that the stator and rotor employ split-tooth structure and the winding employs fractional slot concentrated winding. The topology, electromagnetic performance, inductance characteristic, and efficiency are analyzed by finite element (FE) in turn. The results show that the mutual inductance of the proposed SDWDM is reduced by 53% compared to CDWDM. Moreover, copper loss is reduced and the efficiency is improved.
