Abstract

Forward-looking imaging has important applications in aircrafts' landing, autonomous navigation, and obstacle detection. However, faced with low azimuth resolution and left-right ambiguity, conventional monostatic SAR can't achieve high-resolution imaging of forward-looking areas. In this paper, by sequential reception of multiple receiving antennas located along the cross-range direction, a multichannel radar forward-looking imaging configuration is constructed. Then based on the equivalent phase center(EPC) principle, the approach to avoid left-right ambiguity is analyzed. Finally, the simulations are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the analysis.
