Abstract

A new structure of ultra-wideband vertical polarization omni-directional antenna for very-high frequency (VHF) and ultra-high frequency (UHF) bands is proposed in this letter. The antenna consists of two dipoles for high and low frequency bands which are coaxially nested. The antenna achieves ultra-wideband and the high radiation gain in the horizontal plane by using slot coupling, radiator reuse, asymmetric and gradient structure. The simulated results show that the ultra-wideband vertical polarization omni-directional antenna designed based on this method can achieve a relative bandwidth of 1:10.
