An object removal method based on improved texture synthesis on photographs

Abstract

An improved texture synthesis algorithm is proposed to fill up holes left after unpleasant objects removal in digital images. This method introduces a first-order approximation model to implement local texture propagation. And weighted Sum of Squared Differences (wSSD) by 2D Gaussian distribution is employed as a matching criterion.
