Abstract

-Multipath routing improves end-to-end throughput by transmitting data via multiple paths. However, the inter-path interference limits the gain of multipath routing in mobile ad hoc networks. To address this issue, we propose the Greedy-based Interference Avoidance MUltipath Routing (GIMR) protocol. With the aid of geographic information, two least-interference paths between a source and destination pair is established with low overhead. We present the detail components of GIMR, including the route discovery, data transmission, and route maintenance. Via extensive simulations, we demonstrate that GIMR achieves much better performance than the existing approach in terms of throughput, packet delivery ratio, and end-to-end delay.
