Abstract

The reliability of data transmission significantly affects the remote state estimation performance in Cyber-physical systems (CPS). However, the reliability is constrained by the limited resources of the sensors, e.g. energy and unreliable communication channel. In this paper, we design an event-based dynamic retransmission scheduling algorithm to minimize the estimation error of the remote estimator under the energy budget of the sensor. Through simulations, we demonstrate that the algorithm can reduce the packet loss rate effectively and improve the estimation performance over an arbitrary unreliable channel. In addition, simulation results illustrate that event-based retransmission scheduling outperforms the algorithm of allocating retransmission times in advance in terms of the accuracy of remote state estimation.
