Abstract
The operation of electricity market witnesses many challenges due to the grid-connection of large-scale wind power. This paper analyzes the influence of stochastic wind power on day-ahead markets and proposes a new clearing model for day-ahead electricity market in the pool considering wind power. Compared with the conventional ones, this model is inspired by the idea of ex-post price. A multi-scenario model is generated based on the results of probabilistic wind power forecast, to simulate the randomness of wind power. The risks from the uncertain electricity prices in practical operations are also considered. Both economic and adequacy factors are included and balanced in the clearing model. The adjustment requirement of generation scheduling and adjustment capacity of thermal units are also considered in the model. Case study on IEEE-RTS 1979 verifies the clearing scheme of wind power obtained by adopting the proposed model is capable of satisfying the load supply while achieving less production cost.
