Abstract

Q analysis on reflection seismic data is usually affected by the wavelet interferences and the noise. A novel method to Q inversion is presented in this paper, which is accomplished in three steps: (1) according to Q-V empirical formula, the initial solution to Q inversion is generated by the rough estimated velocity; (2) based on initial solution, using Gabor transform to make Q inversion and generate a series of average values of Q; (3) the interior-point algorithm is applied to make interval-Q inversion. Then combined with the velocity and Q of the common sedimentary rocks, the dependency of Q inversion on initial solution is analyzed. Finally the real data application and analysis are implemented with the proposed Q inversion approach, and the inverse Q filter is applied and analyzed.
