Abstract
The effects of temperature and Al concentration on the crystal-to-amorphous transition of mechanically-alloyed Zr-Al solid solutions were examined by ball milling the Zr100-xAlx powder blends at varying temperatures. In particular, the dynamic and external forcing effects, resulting in reentrant melting during milling, were analyzed in terms of the effective temperature.
