Abstract

In recent years, new theories and new methods of pharmacokinetics are constantly emerging due to the progress of technology and research approaches. At present, the objective and content of pharmacokinetic research are extended to from the macro levels (plasma and tissue) to micro levels (cellular pharmacokinetics) gradually, and extended from single drug (western medicine) to complex components (traditional Chinese medicine). Importantly, the pharmacokinetic research is also expanded from single target to multiple targets metabolomics (or overall regulation of endogenous substances). This paper describes the latest progress of pharmacokinetics in cellular pharmacokinetics, pharmacokinetics of traditional Chinese medicine, and metabolomics.
