Abstract
Hot melt prepreg technology is a low-cost and environmentally benign process that is compatible with on-line continuous production. The advantages of hot-melt prepreg technology make it an ideal candidate for the future high-performance composites molding process. Owing to the inherent brittleness of thermosetting resins, the wide application of thermosetting resin in the hot melt prepreg technology is limited. Therefore, in order to meet the demand of high performance composite, research on thermosetting resins in hot melt prepreg technology is pivotal. In the paper, thermosetting resin such as epoxy resin, isocyanate resin, phenolic resin which has been intensively researched in hot melt prepreg technology are reviewed.
