Abstract

Control is a key issue for the performance and compensation characteristic of dynamic voltage restorer (DVR).After detailed analysis of the conventional phase shift control for DVR, this paper discovered a potential fatal problem of this control. Then, an advanced control method is proposed from the viewpoint of active power balance. After the theoretical analysis and digital implementation, further study on the static, dynamic compensation performance and the system stability issue are also presented. Simulation and experimental results are presented to verify the validity of the proposed control method and the performance of the DVR.
