Abstract

An adaptive PID controller for thrust speed of a hydraulic thrust system in shield machine based on the single neuron structure was designed on the basis of the fact that the single neuron features the PID characteristics. The online parameter adjustments of the proportion, integral and differential of the conventional PID controller were realized by means of self-learning ability of the neuron. achieving the adaptive control for the thrust speed of the shield. The simulation results show that the single neuron PID adaptive controller is characterized by the strong robustness and can accomplish better control performance even in such nonlinear application case as shield tunneling.
