Abstract

Ground roll attenuation is one of the important problems in land seismic data processing. According to the distribution characteristics of ground roll and reflection signal in wavelet domain and the characteristic of ground roll changing with the offset, an adaptive ground roll attenuation method is presented, which has time-variable and space-variable characteristic. The method has been applied to the synthetic and real data, and compared with high-pass filtering methods. The processing and comparison results show that the proposed method is effective in attenuating ground-roll, at the same time, it can well preserve the amplitude and phase information of reflection wave.
