Abstract

There are many uncertainties and disturbances in the real power system that make traditional static var compensator (SVC) control methods have lower precision, however, the neural networks(NNs)control opens a new way to solve the control problem of nonlinear and uncertainness system. A neural networks PID control scheme is proposed, which makes the voltage at the point of common coupling keep near the given value through controlling SVC. The method has good robust stability in closed-loop control system. EPRI-36 buses system and power system that contains wind generator are simulated using NNs PID to control SVC, which confirms the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.
