Abstract

This letter presents a new discretization model for computing the rightmost eigenvalues of power systems with time-delays. In this model, only the retarded variables are concerned in discretization. Since the number of retarded terms is extremely small compared with that of all variables, the proposed technique significantly reduces the order of the existing discretization model, thereby alleviating the computational burden. The accuracy and efficiency of the proposed model are verified and discussed.
