Abstract

In order to make magnetic micro-machine swim more flexibly, we designed a rotating magnetic field generator with tunable angular frequency and magnetic flux density in arbitrary spatial plane by computation and simulation. A device which consists of power supply and three pairs of Helmholtz coils which are pair-wise orthogonal would be applied. Triphase sinusoidal currents were chosen to obtain a rotating magnetic field with an arbitrary rotation axis. The magnetic flux density, angular frequency and rotation axis can be modulated by tuning the amplitude and frequency of each phase current. The device can achieve a rotating magnetic field with arbitrary rotation axis to drive magnetic micro-machine. And through driving experiments, the generator can rotate magnetic micro-machine and move.
