N2 - This paper firstly proposes a rotary frequency multiplier for fractional frequency transmission system (FFTS). First, the frequency multiplier model is introduced including structure, principle and harmonic shape. The electromagnetic performance of harmonic shape PM structure and equal thickness PM structure are compared, including flux density, voltage quality, torque ripple, power factor, PM eddy loss. The results show that HS-type can improve the performance of rotary frequency multiplier, and the feasibility of the proposed rotary frequency multiplier structure used for frequency conversion in FFTS has been verified.
