Abstract

The distribution network of small current grounding system often has the problem of single-phase grounding fault. The traditional passive arc extinguishment cannot meet the requirement of zero residual current at the fault point. The active arc suppression method uses the zero-sequence current injected by the power electronic equipment to control the voltage of the fault point. This method requires a large-capacity single-phase inverter, which needs high cost in production. This paper introduces the current status of the active grounding arc suppression method of the existing distribution network at first. Then, it proposes a new structure of the active arc suppression device for the distribution network. Also, it analyzes the factors influencing the performance of flexible grounding active arc suppression method. This paper provides a theoretical basis for further improving the control method of the active arc suppression method and enhancing the arc suppression performance.
