Abstract

Focusing on exceptions that occur often in CSCD, the definition and classification of the exception are presented in the paper. Combining multi-agent with knowledge, the basic procedure is, using routine rules, expert knowledge and experiences, the agents divide the work and cooperate with each other to monitor the execution procedure on-line, detect exceptions and adjust the assignment of tasks in time (if had an exception) in order to accomplish a common goal in an "ideal" way. A prototype system, CoopDesigner, based on this method of handling exceptions, is introduced in the last section of the paper.
