Abstract

In this paper, a VHF and UHF antenna is proposed with characteristics of low-profile, broadband and omnidirectional radiation pattern. This antenna consists of a crossed monopole with a top loading and three magneto-dielectric material (MDM) based short lines, whose electrical dimension is 0.13 max × 0.13 max × 0.07 max at the minimum operating frequency. The reflection coefficient is below -8dB and the gain of the proposed antenna is over than -2 dB within the operating bandwidth of 100 MHz to 400 MHz.
