Abstract

This paper proposes a high frequency high power density LED driving system. Based on the optimal design method, the soft-switching characteristics of switch and diode can be achieved, meanwhile, the diode stress is reduced. The values of the inductors and capacitors are greatly reduced in high frequency condition. For small values, the aircore planar inductors with low profile can be adopted. To reduce the resistance and corresponding loss, an optimal structure and design method is proposed. To verify the feasibility of the proposed LED driving system, a 20MHz prototype is built.
