Abstract

The LC resonance on the grid side of the surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) drive system without electrolytic capacitor is an important reason for the high harmonic content of the grid side current and the low grid side power factor. This paper proposes a grid side LC resonance suppression method for SPMSM drive system without electrolytic capacitor based on virtual damping power injection to reduce the grid side current harmonics and improve the grid side power factor. The proposed method realizes the LC resonance suppression by compensating the grid side virtual damping power to the inverter power given in the conventional inverter power control strategy. The simulation has been executed and verified the effectiveness of the proposed method.
