Abstract

A single interface based multi-channel MAC protocol (SIMC) is proposed to avoid the decrease of wireless sensor networks' throughput and reliability caused by variable interferences in industrial environment. SIMC protocol achieves distributed network management by clustering. The cluster head nodes construct the fixed channel network with the improved MMSN algorithm, which ensures the difference of each adjacent cluster's channel. During the communication, cluster nodes switch channels based on the current channel's actual quality and interference intensity to resist external interference and improve the channel utilization rate. The simulation results show that the SIMC protocol can effectively increase WSN's anti-interference ability and throughput in comparison with traditional MAC protocol.
