Abstract

A dual-wideband circularly-polarized (CP) substrate integrated dielectric resonator antenna (SIDRA) is studied in this paper. The antenna realizes dual-band performance by connecting a dielectric ring and a dielectric block. Circular polarization is achieved by using a cross feeding slot. To further widen the axial ratio (AR) bandwidth, four rotated slots and a pair of dielectric blocks are added. Simulated results show that the proposed antenna achieves 3-dB AR bandwidth of 27.44-31.38 GHz (14.76%) at the lower band and 35.74-39.61 GHz (10.27%) at the upper band, which covers the 28 and 38 GHz. Hence, the antenna is a good candidate for 5G mmWave application.
